With the 4th of July now come and gone here stateside, the Dog Days of Summer are set to kick off, but not before the Euro 2020 wraps up in Europe. Slated for Tuesday and Wednesday, the semi-finals will wrap up with Sunday’s final slated for 3:00 PM EST at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
While their opponent will be decided Tuesday, can the home team England beat Denmark’s fairytale story to advance to Sunday’s match?
Let’s take a closer look.

Having yet to concede a goal in this Euro 2020 and averaging three goals per game in the knockout phase, it’s tough to look away from the force that has become English football. Following Saturday’s 4-0 win over Ukraine in Rome, England would now get two straight home games at Wembley Stadium if they were to win on Wednesday.
It has been an emotional roller coaster for Denmark since star player Christian Eriksen went down in cardiac arrest in their first match, but they have just gotten by in every difficult match since. Narrowly avoiding defeat against the Czech on Saturday, they come into this one also averaging three goals per game and have a knack for starting games quickly, as we’ve seen thus far. What I fear for them, however, is the energy spent to get to this point, as the British were able to mostly rest their key players in their runaway win Saturday.
What the Danish do have going for them, in addition to the emotional motivation, is recent history. Over their last six meetings with England, they have drawn three and won two, winning a recent as October here at Wembly. In the end, however, I see Harry Kane and company being too much here for Denmark and taking one step closer to their first major tournament win since 1966.
Pick: England -136
